Modeling auditions

My friend was just telling me that when she was younger she did some modeling. She actually is considering setting up a few modeling auditions for over the summer, so she can get back into it. I am not sure that she is model kind of pretty, but I do think that she is attractive and definitely skinny enough. I mean she never eats. I have heard of people going for movie auditions, like my one friend has always wanted to be an actress. Even back in elementary school, it has always been her dream. I know that now that we are older, she has moved to NYC and has been to many acting auditions. She has gotten a few small parts, but nothing earth shattering. Most of her appearances have been in the theaters, and she is pretty good, but she says it is grueling trying to survive while trying to land acting jobs and attend auditions. She has attended classes for acting, and does truly love the roles she gets, but I am worried that she will never make it big. I mean she is only 20, and I think she is good, but it just seems that so many people never make it in the business, it is a little heartbreaking.

I guess maybe you have a better chance if you do some baby modeling or at least attend auditions for teens. I think that if you can break into performing while you are still young enough and cute enough, it is probably easier. Although, many people don’t really survive that very well either, turning to drugs and the wild life when they do become of age. Of course, everyone is not a Brittney Spears or Michael Jackson, take Will Smith, Drew Barrymore, or Raven Simone. Everyone who becomes a child star does not have to become a wacked out adult, like the tabloids make you think. Some actually do make it big and then make it even bigger as adults, it can happen.

I hope for my friends sake that she can make it big. I know it is really important to her and that she really works hard. She definitely has that something special, but will she meet the right person at the right time and get her big break…I am afraid only time will tell.
