About

Hello there and welcome to my website!

Here you will find some information about my science background and research projects. Since I love photography, I also included a lot of photos that I took over the years, although I didn’t have time to select only the best ones (so you will see a mixture of nice and mediocre photos).

My research focuses on understanding land-ocean-atmosphere interactions on interannual to millennial timescales. My main areas of expertise are paleoclimatology/Quaternary geology and my PhD research involves high-resolution climate reconstructions in the western U.S. using stable isotopes in speleothems from Oregon Caves National Monument. Obtaining a paleoenvironmental record in this area is important because the Pacific Northwest is strategically situated in a region that is strongly influenced by the Pacific Ocean which has been one of the largest sources of regional-to-global climate variability during the Quaternary.
