March 1, 2005 Sexual Harassment: Student Stories and Student Action 5:00 to 6:00 PM, Women's Center
Join Dale Pehrsson, Counseling Education; Prudence Miles, Affirmative Action; Beth Rietveld, Women's Center and Janet Lee, Women Studies as students talk about their experiences, the impact of sexual harassment on working and learning at OSU, and what can be done about it.
March 2, 2005 Real Women Have Curves: Movie and Discussion 5-7:30pm at the Women's Center. The program, co-sponsored by the Caesar Chavez Cultural Center, is a screening of Real Women Have Curves, along with a facilitated discussion with Patti Watkins. Dr. Watkins is a professor in Women's Studies and teaches a course entitled, "Women, Weight and Eating Disorders."
March 2, 2005 Poetry Slam 6:00-9:00pm MU Main Lounge

March 3, 2005 Alternative Childbirth Forum, Barbara Harper, Founder & Director, Waterbirth International, 3:00-4:00pm Women's Center. This forum will discuss alternatives to delivering a baby in a hospital setting. Video and PowerPoint demonstration of birth alternatives will be shown.
March 4, 2005 Singer/songwriter, Cosy Sheridan presents The Pomegranate Seed, 8:00-10:00pm Club Escape (Snell Hall)
Cosy puts music to tough, REAL situations eloquently, with a strong guitar-playing style, beautiful voice, a sense of humor, intelligence, and compassion. Cosy does a performance she calls a musicalogue around eating disorders, body image, and culture. This performance is called "Pomegranate Seed," based on the Greek mythological story of Persephone.

Let's get creative in honor of Women's History Month 2005
Creating Reality: One Artist at a Time
February 11th-March 25th, 2005
MU Concourse Gallery and Lounge
What is art? What is a woman's experience? How does art express women's realities? We invite all the women of OSU to use their own creativity to answer these questions. Creating Reality will include visual, performance, written, 3-D, or 2-D art. This is your stage, your soapbox, your spotlight, anything goes.
In honor of the artists, an opening night party will be held in the MU Student Lounge on Friday, February 18th from 6-9.
All art must be picked up on Friday, March 25th from 1-5. All unclaimed art will be considered a donation to the Women's Center.

A panel of international students will discuss their experiences here in the United States and in their home countries.
January 18-21, 2005 - Cookie Baking Celebration, 8:00am-5:00pm at the Women's Center
Get out of the cold and eat fresh baked cookies...or better yet, come and use our ingredients to make a batch of cookies! Free hot cocoa and cookies will be available all week. Cookies baked at the Women's Center are to be shared at the Women's Center! All are welcome (especially if you've never been inside the WC before).
War's Effects on Women, Three-Part Series
January 18th, 2pm- in the Asian Pacific Cultural Center, Video and Discussion with Melanie Love
January 19th, 2pm- Ms. Sonja Harju, a globally recognized political speaker discusses her experiences as a woman, a leader, and a global advocate in a war torn Nigeria.
January 20th, 2pm- in the Asian Pacific Cultural Center- A showing of "Regret to Inform" and a following discussion on the effects the war with Vietnam had on women.
January 22, 2005 - LUNAFEST 7:00-9:00pm LaSells Stewart Center
LUNAFEST is a national festival of films made “by, for, or about women.” It features a diverse lineup of short films, including three 2004 Sundance Film Festival selections, and has a total running time of just under two hours. The event will also include a screening of “Oasis of Hope”, a documentary about breast cancer survivors by local filmmaker Lynn Walker. LUNAFEST is being brought to Corvallis, OR, by the Benton County Breast and
Cervical Cancer Coalition. In addition to providing national exposure for emerging women filmmakers, LUNAFEST also supports the communities we live in today by donating a portion of the proceeds from the festival to The Breast Cancer Fund (TBCF) as well as the Benton County Breast and Cervical Cancer
Coalition (a non-profit organization dedicated to raising awareness and promoting early detection of breast and cervical cancer).
