"Women's Health Today" (formerly Women's Health at Twelve) is a monthly, lunch-hour series of talks given by UCSF faculty on contemporary topics in women's health. All talks will be webcast live. Women Achieving New Directions (WAND) is a program directed to women in our community on what we can do to create change around social issues that disproportionately affect the lives of women and children. 2/23 Feminist Identities: A panel to ignite discussion 5:30pm
(Joyce Powell Leadership Center) A panel to ignite dialogue about feminism and the feminist identity. Panelists will include: Dr. Susan Shaw, Dr. Lani Roberts, Dr. Brett Vicario, Dennis Bennett, Michael Faris, and Jenny Kulas. Each panelist will share personal reasons for self-identifying as feminists and how that identification affects their work and personal relationships.

What makes lesbian health different from the health concerns of women in general? Are these differences inherent in lesbians, or are they result of being lesbian in a generally homophobic society? What are the reproductive options for lesbians? How do end of life issues differ for lesbians? Explore these important topics with the Co-Director of the Center for Lesbian Health Research, Patricia Robertson MD, Professor in the Department of Obstetrics, Gynecology, and Reproductive Sciences at UCSF. 2/1 “Sexual Health: Relationship with Self and Others” 5-7 pm

This workshop will focus on various issues of female and male masturbation. The
workshop is designed to be highly educational and interactive; providing a safe
environment for people to learn and hear about an importnat but often
disregarded or socially-shunned topic. Both a female and male therapist from
UCPS will be running the workshop. You can expect the tone of the workshop to
elicit respect and awareness of participant's various issues and levels of
comfort with this topic, yet you can also expect true warnth and playfulness as
well. Please feel free to bring a friend or partner; this workshop should be
appropriate for all adults.
