The Zonta Club of Corvallis, the Commission on Children and Families, and the OSU Women's Center are pleased to present a program on a subject that can have a devastating effect on members of our community. Sexual assault can touch the lives of one in four college women; and domestic violence effects over 5.3 million partners/spouses in the U.S. each year. This discussion will cover what is happening in Corvallis and at OSU to support survivors and to educate our community.

Empowering Women in Rural West Africa. Cody Donahue, a student at OSU will talk about his experiences in Africa working for the social and economic equality of women as well as the end of genital mutilation and child marriage.

May 28 th to May 30th Women's Outdoor Memorial Gathering- Intro. To Backpacking
The ORC, Women's Center, and Experiential Education are joining up to encourage women's involvement in outdoor activities. This women's-centered introduction to backpacking is part of the National Women's Outdoor Memorial Gathering to honor women who have been victims of violence in the outdoors. The trip will include instructions on how to live and travel in the backcountry as well evening ceremonies, poetry, story sharing, and of course, lots of laughter. No experience necessary and all levels are welcome! Most equipment provided.
