Food & Firewood Gleaning
Gleaners
People who are able-bodies volunteers with low incomes gather crops, surplus or salvage foods and firewood to share fifty/fifty with adoptees. Adoptees are elderly and/pr disabled individuals who have low incomes. Gleaners also share with food banks and agencies that sponsor group meals. There are fourteen groups in Linn and Benton Counties:

Hours: 8 a.m. – 5 p.m. (Mon. - Fri.) Refers participants and volunteers to local groups. Refers donors of surplus food and wood to local gleaning groups. Contact Susan James, Volunteer Programs Coordinator.
2005 Summer Free Meal Program
Children can have free food while school is out during the summer with the Summer Food Program. All children are welcome to eat at one of the following locations:
