Donate to the Women's Center

In 1972, the status of women at Oregon State University was forever changed by three momentous events: the opening of the Women Studies Center, the creation of the President’s Commission on the Status of Women, and the offering of the first Women Studies classes. Many women and men played a vital part during the past thirty-eight years in creating a better environment for our women students, faculty and staff.  We are eternally grateful for Jeanne Dost, Margaret Lumpkin, JoAnne J. Trow, and Gwenyth Britton, to name just a few of these people who fought for these efforts.

Today, the Women’s Center provides resources for women in crisis, advocates for the interests of all students, and welcomes the involvement of all students, regardless of age, race, ethnicity, religion, disability, sexual orientation, or socioeconomic status.  The Center itself is a supportive, welcoming space for students to host meetings, find support, and learn about campus programs and events.

Along with an Executive Director and a part-time graduate assistant, a number of student staff members create programs, events, and workshops in response to the interests and needs of Oregon State University.  Additionally, the work of the Women's Center is guided by an Advisory Committee comprised of students, faculty, staff, and community members.

This work cannot occur without the financial support of people who appreciate the important work of women’s centers.  Please consider supporting our continuing efforts with a contribution to the Oregon State University Women’s Center.
