Working On-Campus
From OSU Wiki
As an international student, working is allowed only for on-campus jobs. Be careful, there are couple of requirements set by the US Immigration for international students. In order to work legally on campus, you must go through a series of immigration and social security processes. First of all, you should be received a working letter issued by the department which hires you. Second, visit the website of social security office to fill out an application form for a social security card and then print it out. Third, bring your passport, visa, working letter, and social security application form and visit the closest social security office in town (the closest social security office from OSU is in Albany). Finally, once you receive your social security card, you are officially and legally working on-campus. The consequences of not meeting those requirements or following those processes are serious. Once you violate any of those requirements, you are subject to take punishments and will be banned from the US.
