My Wiki Plan
My wiki will be about the different facilities and programs available for children of OSU students.
Overview Of My Wiki Contributions
My overall objective for this wiki assignment is to highlight some information about the different child care services offered or Sponsored by OSU. My contributions have mainly been about the two specific day cares at OSU and the relevant information of each individual facility.
Individual Contributions
- Started main page link Corvallis, OR which I felt was needed since the city the University resides in is probably a place people want to review when considering attending OSU or even students new to the area.
- Next few edits where regarding my wiki plan but where placed in the wrong section even though they where maid early on. I also included a picture of my daughter and myself. User:Gonzaleo
- On Apr 7 I added two links titled Daycare Facillities @ OSU and Special "kid" Programs but ended up getting rid of them later since I didn't like the set up. I would later add titles to compensate.User:Gonzaleo
- On Apr 17th I realized I was supposed to have my wiki information in the Usertalk page so I added a link from the my talk page that would take a person directly to my wiki plan on the user page but this also was wrong and thus corrected.
- From Apr 19-25 I contributed some ideas and feedback to the peers I mentor User talk:Fenterss, User talk:Fangsh, and User talk:Faxonl I also moved all of my wiki information to the correct mytalk page.
- Between the 27th and late night 28th/29th I contributed most of my site information. I first added Childcare Facilities to the main page and then corrected it by placing it in alphabetical order like the wiki rules suggest.
- The 28th is when I went to work on the actual Childcare Facilities page adding a photo of one of the facilities, as well as accommodation information, pricing info, accreditation info, and information on capacity. In addition I added the addresses for both of the facilities as well as contact information. I also included the link to the Kindercare company. I added both of the main facilities that have daycare services and added a subsection which will have other child related programs that OSU offers. I will plan to add more photos and more information in the near future.
Final Set of Individual Contributions
The following contributions where maid between May 16th and 19th.
- Besides my second set of wiki mentoring ideas to my three sets of peers I also adjusted some sentances to include more information from before. Also, I made some grammar corrections.
- I added another heading titled Childcare Funding Options in which I would later include information about financial help for paying childcare costs.
- I finished adding information to OSU Child Development Center including more information on pricing, location, and information regarding the facilities employees. Also, a bit of historic information concerning the facility.
- Much of the final contributions added to the Childcare Facilities page was including information under the newly formed Childcare Funding Options. Information included was about the following three programs that help with childcare costs. Childcare subsidy - provided by the Associated Students of OSU , Campus Financial aid - provided by the OSU financial aid office, and lastly Grants - provided by Linn & Benton counties family connections.
- I also added the small heading Other Area Childcare Programs under which the previously added corvallis childcare facilities link would now reside.
- Overall I felt my contributions where relevant and helpfull for any parent looking for childcare facilities on or near campus.

I think this is a a great idea for parents to be able to look into and research. This may seem like a dumb question, but is this research going to be mainly directed at parents that are currenlty students with children, or just parents in the Corvallis area that need to have faciliities for their children to attend while they are working? This topic is creative and good, you may just want to explain your target audience in a little more in depth to clarify.

I like how you stuck with your original ideas, but I think you could have added a little more onto each page. The information is relevant and useful, but maybe a bit more information is necessary. I think the pictures you added are very helpful and good quality.

Your wiki plan sounds like an excellent idea. You can provide some very important information for many student parents a faculty parents. The topic is kind of broad so just make sure that you provide a lot of information about the services.
