Oregon State Tennis Club

The OSU tennis club meets on Tuesdays (everybody; open night), Wednesdays (everybody; organized drills), and Thursdays (top 6 men and women only) from 7-9pm each week in the indoor Tennis Pavilion. Attendance to practices is not required and is on a drop-in basis. All levels welcome. Top players in the club travel to matches throughout the year and compete (most years) in a national club tennis tournament. Rules of Tennis

General rules for single tennis

  • The first player to win six games wins the set.
  • If the score reaches five games to six, then the winning player must win the next game.
  • If the games reaches six games all, then the players would have to play a tie break.
  • Points in tennis are called love (zero), 15, 30, 40, deuce (tied at 40) and advantage (ahead by one after a deuce).
  • Usually men plays best out of five sets and women plays best out of three sets.

    Dixon

    Dixon hosts many indoor and outdoor courts closeby to the actual facility so that you can rent equipment to play tennis. Contact the front rental counter at Dixon Recreation Facility for rentals and more information.
