The other point of view
This guy gets a 1.3 out of 10 from me. He made me jump through hoops to get him to re-grade my website and then only gave me three extra points. He might as well have told me not to waste my time. The only plus in his class is a little bit of freedom on the website project topic and format. Oh yeah, his grade curve is also messed up. He "adjusts" the grade intervals until the average GPA is between 2.75 and 3.0. That means that anyone with a grade on the edge is in danger of going up or down, such as an A- to a B+, depending on if he feels that the appropriate average is a 2.9 or 2.8. There's really no way to hold him accountable for this ridiculous grading, and no way to tell where you stand in the class until the end. Very messed up.
He does try
I would have to agree in part that his grading may be a bit confusing, I am not sure yet since I am currently in his class. He does try to work with you though if you are having problems, he is always available after class to talk too. He will change his grades and if you feel that something wasn't graded properly or he missed something he is very easy to approach or email about it. I am only part way through BA 271, but it isn't a complete waste of time :)
Way to be enthusiastic
I currently have Dave Sullivan as a professor for BA 271. It is very refreshing to see a professor who is so excited to teach what he's good at! It makes coming to class a lot more interesting. He is also willing to go the extra mile for students who do not fully understand the material by conducting Tuesday evening help sessions that I have found to be very informative. The Monday night work samples are tricky but once you get the hang of what he's expecting their not so bad... I recommend Dave Sullivan to any one who is planning on taking BA 271.
A little more substance
BA 271. Dave Sullivan is very enthusiastic in his teaching style. He often gets excited about things which will keep your interest even though the class is a bit drab. The monday evening classes can be difficult to go to due to the time, but they will be beneficial if you care about the subject. Dave really understands the material well.

Light the Fire Inside
Dave Sullivan will get you interested and excited about the material throughout the term. He has an energy about him that is fun to watch and he really seems to care about your learning. I would recommend him to anyone!
He knows his stuff
Dr. Dave Sullivan is very knowledgable in all things computers. His class is made fun with his personality and his way of teaching. I especially enjoyed how he was not afraid to push boundaries of what he would and would not talk about. He is the best BA271 teacher at OSU.
Teachers Should Take Note
Hands down, great teacher. I've never left a lecture disappointed, bored, or tired. He knows how to keep your attention and isn't really afraid to say whats on his mind. It's nice when teacher really try to relate the information and maintain the audience's attention. So many teachers really it seems like don't care when giving a lecture. Just the fact that I know he is really working to keep our attention makes me personally pay more attention in class.
Learn the material first
"I haven't done this in a long time, so i'm a little confused on how I should transfer this information to you". I don't like hearing this from an instructor. The website part of the class was great, but as soon as we started databases with access, the class was very unorganized. Not enough good instruction was given.
