Experiences with Sterling Management Inc.
Both of us, my roomate and I, are from the Portland Area, which has been the foundation of many problems that we had with Sterling Management Inc. Some forms they could fax to us, some forms we could fax to them, but many of these forms were not alerted to us when we called them. Being that we had busy schedules and couldn't find the time to drive to Corvallis, it would have been nice if they had told us exactly what they needed in person, and what they could have just sent to us. Instead we had to bend over backwards to accomodate time for the drive, just to find out we didn't really have to come down. Even after dealing with all the paperwork necessary to move in, we still found ourselves missing forms they should have given to us. It felt like a professional setting with unprofessional people at times. Only after a month of living in the property we rented from them did it feel like things were going smoothly. My suggestion to those who are renting from Sterling Management Inc. for the first time and do not live in the Corvallis area already, tell them you don't live in the Corvallis area. Make sure to always ask when they need you in person, and what can be faxed or mailed to save your time. It'll save your sanity.
