  • History
The Indianapolis Colts were originally created in Baltimore in 1946, after purchasing the franchise from the Miama Seahawks. They were later moved to Indianapolis in 1984. Since 1946, the franchise has recorded three World Championships. Recently, the Colts have appeared in the playoffs in four of the last six years but have come up short of a Super Bowl appearance each year.
  • Star Players
    • Peyton Manning

Drafted by the Indianapolis Colts in 1998, Peyton Manning has been the biggest reason for the Colts recent turn-around. Already in his ninth season, he is clearly a future hall of famer that shows no signs of slowing down. Manning and Marvin Harrison hold the record for the most touchdowns between a quarterback and wide receiver.
    • Marvin Harrison

In his eleventh season since being drafted by the Colts in 1996, Marvin Harrison is another clear hall of famer that has established himself as one of the best and most reliable receivers in the NFL.
    • Adam Vinatieri

After Mike Vanderjagt's game losing field goal miss in the playoffs in 2005, the Colts decided to trade the NFL's most accurate kicker ever to play the game in Vanderjagt to the New England Patriotsfor one of the most clutch kickers of all time in Vinatieri. Vinatieri has made two Super Bowl winning kicks late in the games, and countless regular reason and playoff game winning field goals. The Colts hope that he can help them get over the hump and reach a Super Bowl.

Woman's Football

Corvallis Pride

Women's Full Contact Football
  • About the Pride
    • The Corvallis Pride[[1]] is one of twenty seven teams in the IWFL [[2]]. The Pride’s head coach and owner is Beth Buglione. The Pride has been part of the IWFL since it started in 2001. Now approaching its 6th season the Pride has plans to continue competing in the Western Conference for many years to come.
    • With the head coach and few others being the only Pride teammates that have been with the IWFL for the full five years the Corvallis Pride continues to grow. In the years past new players have joined the Pride only by word of mouth, now that the IWFL is getting more recognition the Pride is receiving new players of all walks of life with much enthusiasm.
    • The Corvallis Pride wears the number 33 on all of their helmets. Pride 33 comes from a teammate that passed away June of 2002. Pam Sandlin #33 was a great asset to the team and a great member of the Pride family. She passed away the week before the Corvallis Pride’s first ever playoff game and the Pride retired her jersey on June 22nd. Every game is dedicated to the memory of Pam Sandlin with a hoo-haa Pride 33 chant.
  • Think you Want to Play?
    • Most people think about football as a man's sport. They think that the bigger the guy the better he can play. Well football is now a woman’s sport too and every woman can play no matter her size. In women’s football we need the bigger stronger girls to guard the line, skinny girls that are fast to run the ball, and tall girls to be receivers. Of course your weight and height don't really determine your position but it shows how all women can play football.
      • For example: my name is Erica, I am 21 years old, I weigh 120lbs, I'm 5'5" and I play running back on offense and corner on defense.
    • Women's football isn't just for college age girls either. On the Pride we have women ranging from 18 to 55 years old. We have college girls that attend OSU or LBCC and we also have lots of mothers.
    • Of course a lot of women don’t know how to play; we have never had the chance. The Pride will teach you everything you need know. Our coach knows football better than most men. We start the season off with getting to know the basic plays and terminology of the game. We play with NFL rules and all the plays fallow a basic pattern.
    • If you are interested in trying a new sport here is your chance. With the Pride and all IWFL teams you aren't just joining a team; you are joining a family. Games are won by how well a team can work together. All the women on these teams are here because they love football and want to be part of something outside their school or work. Not only will you gain the knowledge and skills of football but you will gain lifetime friends. One of the best things about playing full contact football is that if one of your teammates is wronged on the field you get to knock the piss out of that girl on the next play!
    • The women's football is a growing sport. Last season the Pride played against the Seattle Majestics, the Eugene Edge, the Portland Shockwave, the Santa Rosa Scorchers, and the Redding Rage. In years past during the championship we played against teams from places like Chicago, New York and Iowa. Playing for any IWFL team includes traveling to other states and cities.
  • Isn't football dangerous?
    • Football is only dangerous if you don't learn how to play it right. The IWFL is a women's full contact football league. That means we wear pads and helmets. One of the biggest things you will find with the Pride is safety comes first. It may seem silly but one of the first things we teach new player is how to fall correctly. A person’s natural response to being hit to the ground is to put your hand out to catch yourself. Well in football that is how you get broken arms. We teach you how to trust your pads and protect your body.
    • With anything a person does in life comes risk of injury. While still doing the things we love and enjoy the Pride focuses on eliminating as much risk as we can. All the teammates meet up in small groups and work out with each other. We stay fit, eat healthy, and we all help each other reach those goals that keep us safe.
    • Playing for the Pride also requires all teammates to carry some form of insurance in case of emergencies.
  • How to Participate
    • Check out the Pride website[[3]] and contact any of the coaches. Or just ask around, there are at least 20 women around campus that play for the Pride any of them would be more than happy to offer more information.
    • If you are interested in playing for other teams go to the IWFL website[[4]].
