History of Sigma Nu
Sigma Nu's past is a proud and colorful one. Founded by three cadets at the Virginia Military Institute in a period of civil strife known as the Reconstruction, Sigma Nu represented a radical departure from the times. The system of physical abuse and hazing of underclassmen at VMI led to James Frank Hopkins, Greenfield Quarles, and James McIlvaine Riley to form the "Legion of Honor" which soon became Sigma Nu Fraternity. So, amidst a backdrop of turmoil, North America's first "Honor" fraternity was established.

LEAD
LEAD is a four-phase member development program. LEAD stands for Leadership, Ethics, Achievement, and Development. The purpose of LEAD is to develop ethical leaders; brothers who will make an impact on their chapter, campus and community. Each of the phases includes a unique curriculum. Sessions include exercises, simulations and discussions to highlight leadership issues students will face while in school and later in their lives and careers. The LEAD Program draws on Leaders from the community and alumni as Guest facilitators. Such Guest facilitators include Greek advisors, Greek Police Liaisons, and Respected College Professors. The LEAD Program was originally developed by the Sigma Nu Educational Foundation.
LEAD Phase One is a general induction in to the Greek community with an emphasis on the history of fraternities and the history of Sigma Nu.
LEAD Phase Two consist of Leadership building activities and leadership training.
LEAD Phase Three is designed to help brothers get ready for internships and prep them into the real world.
LEAD Phase For has been built around preparing brothers for their carriers, and to teach them how to be successful in their chosen profession.
All Chapter LEAD Sessions where created to help raise awareness about social issues that effect college students everywhere.

Oregon State again won the first two games of a best of three series with 2-1 and 8-4 wins over Fresno State, which advanced the team to the CWS.
