Beginnings
Facts
Our colors are Lavender and Maroon.
The flower is the violet.
Our symbol is the heart and dove.
The jewel is the pearl.
The open motto is "One heart, one way."
Philanthropies
Sigma Kappa supports:
Gerontology
Gerontology is the study of aging) with the focus on Alzheimer's Disease Research. Here we have a five on five volleyball tournament in the Spring called Sigma Kappa Sideout. Sororities and fraternities pay money to participate in the tournament and the money that is raised goes towards Alzheimer's Disease Research. Sigma Kappa's also collect multiple donations from local businesses that also go towards research.
Maine Sea Coast Mission
Since we were founded in Maine, we support the Maine Sea Coast where we donate clothing and tolietries which go to a remote place where people live in the winter and are unable to get out from where they are.
Inherit the Earth
Everyone cares about the earth and the environment. Sigma Kappa is trying their best to keep the earth clean and taken care of. The Upsilon chapter of Sigma Kappa helps the earth by always recycling and producing as little trash as possible.

Sigma Kappa puts on two dances a year, Barn Dance is the first that is held Fall term and Pearl Premiere is the second that is held Winter term. We also have many social functions with other greek houses on campus our most recent social events were 'Highlighter' with Delta Upsilon(2/2/07) and 'My Shoe' with Tau Kappa Epsilon (2/15/07). edited 2/16/07
