Shay, Steven

From OSU Wiki

- I had Steven Shay for HST202 and really enjoyed his class. He gives great prepared lectures that keep you interested for the entire class. There is a lot of reading involved but if you do it the quizzes are a breeze. For finals he gives 3 essay questions a week before the test and then chooses one on the test day for you to write about. The questions are complex but he is easily approachable in office hours and is always willing to help.

-Steve Shay also teaches HST481 which is "History of Environmental Policy in the US". This can be taken as a synthesis course. Steve is a great teacher in my opinion, he cares alot about what he teaches. Whenever a teacher gets excited about teaching a subject it makes it so much easier to learn from them, and Shay does this. He doesn't require that much reading for a 400 level history class, but it is a fair amount. His midterm is an essay, but thats all that I will tell you. I do recommend taking Shay for a teacher. -Mathiasb
