    History of Memorial Union

    The Memorial Union building is 77 years old and going on 78 this October. It was conceived as a memorial to the graduates of the institution- then Oregon Agricultural College- who had died in World War I.

    For 77 years, the Memorial Union has been where Oregon State students come to eat a quick lunch, by sweat shirts, come to learn, to express themselves and play.

    Dad's Weekend

    27th-29th

  • Dad's weekend are always fun to have, same goes with Mom's weekend. This year, it happens to coincide with several Halloween events and activities, which could be interesting. There are some many types of events, shows and movies that OSU offers on Dad's weekend. Ranging from Dad's weekend comedy show with Frank Caliendo, Dad's weekend football vs. USC, craft center, intramual golf, visiting the nuclear research center and the list can go on, and on. There is a listing of dad's weekend schedule if you want some more information.

    Places to Eat in the MU

  • The Memorial Union hosts a variety of places to eat. With seven restaurants to choose from there is almost always something for everyone. From a pick me up coffee to orange chicken the MU has it all. Grab an all American burger at Carl's Jr. or head into Pangea for a mediterannian burrito wrap. As a general guideline in the MU, most businesses keep the price for an average meal around five dollars. This is provide meal at a reasonable price for the students who are not able to leave campus between classes. If your have a meal plan you should be able to use your student ID card like you would use at one of the dinning halls. Establishments in the MU include:

    • Pangea Cafe
    • A Slice of Woodstock's Pizza

    The Basement

    The basement of the MU offers activity and leisure for students, faculty, and friends. The activities include:

    • Billiards, $4.00 per hour - 4 tables
    • Video Games, 16 video game and two air hockey tables
    • TV Lounge, big screen
    • Host a Private Party
