Landlords are really a seperate issue from housing in general, but it pertains to apartment living, which most upper level students will deal with eventually. A landlord is in charge of making sure that your apartment stays clean and the property maintains a healthy look. Anything like a lot of random people, oddly parked cars, or even a beer can out front can set a landlord off. You must understand that they are just doing their job when they tell you to move your car, or clean up you property. I can testify for a really ridiculously annoying landlord too, and I know that you really dont want to have to talk to your landlord a lot. A good point is to get to know your landlord first-hand and to maintain a positive line of communication, much like you do your mroe difficult professors. They will be more friendly to you when it comes time to pay a cleaning deposit or even to pay rent.
