"We who know the true meaning of brotherhood must practice it."- Brother Harry S. Truman

The Creed of Lambda Chi Alpha Fraternity

We believe in Lambda Chi Alpha, and its traditions, principles, and ideals. The crescent is our symbol: pure, high, ever growing, and the cross is our guide: denoting service, sacrifice, and even suffering and humiliation before the world, bravely endured if need be, in following that ideal.

May we have faith in Lambda Chi Alpha and passion for its welfare. May we have hope for the future of Lambda Chi Alpha and strength to fight for its teachings. May we have pure hearts that we may approach the ideal of perfectly brotherly love.

What Makes Lambda Chi Unique

Our Associate Member Program.

  • You don't pledge us, you join us
  • You can move in right away or wait a few terms
  • We have a no hazing policy, as we feel that hazing hinders the progress of brotherhood and education
  • Everyone is treated equally, with no special treatment for older members

Community Service

Lambda Chi's make it a priority to give back to the community of Corvallis

  • This year through our participation in the North American Canned Food Drive we collected nearly 16,000 pounds of food
  • In our annual philanthropy Watermelon Bash, sororities and fraternities compete in different events to raise money for Special Olympics
  • Not only do we host philanthropies, but we participate in other Greek Fundraisers, like Kappa Delta's Annual Mock Rock in which we took first place!

Lambda Chi Alpha is Brotherhood

In a very real sense, the Fraternity creates a family relationship among its members. It aims to bring together a group of young men who will be brothers, loyal, and helpful to one another during some of the best years of their lives--the college years. Thus, Lambda Chi offers its members the closest possible equivalent to home that can be found on the college campus, and these close ties often bind men in friendships for life.

Living

  • Living in Lambda Chi is easy. We have a study room, a big screen TV with surround sound, a 24 hour kitchen, high speed wireless internet in every room, laundry facilities, parking lot, and a pool table in our trophy room. And since we are only a few blocks from campus, you will never have a long walk to any of your classes
  • Our chapter is diverse in every way imaginable with majors ranging from Pharmacy to Liberal Arts
  • Living in a fraternity saves an average of over $2000 per year and offers social networking opportunities that the dorms can't match--is not four years, it's for life

Scholarship

In 2005, over $35,000 was mad available to members for scholarships. Lambda Chi's can apply for multiple scholarships which are awarded based on four equally weighted categories: academics, service to Lambda Chi, service to Oregon State University, and financial need.
