OSU Mens lacrosse
Oregon State men’s lacrosse has been around for roughly 10 years. The last few years the team has been ranked in the top 30 nationally for all club lacrosse teams. Oregon States lacrosse team is a club team and is for the most part self funded by the athletes. OSU's club recreation department also helps out a little bit for league dues and traveling. The student athletes on the team fundraise to offset the price per term that they will have to pay in dues. On average the team has about 25 student athletes. This year the 2007 season the roster is increased to 30 student athletes. This year there is a huge freshman class with 16 new players coming from all over. Returning from last year OSU has 14 experienced athletes.
2006 Season
Last season the team had 16 games total. The division record for the year was 6 wins and 2 losses. Overall including out of league games the team went 9 wins and 7 losses. Last year the team played Boise State, Stanford, Gonzaga, Idaho, Washington, Simon Frasier University(Canada), Nevada, Missouri, University of Texas, Chico State, Loyola Marymount, Chapman, Linfield and University of Oregon. Last year the OSU men finished second in league behind the University of Oregon men’s lacrosse team.
Upcoming Year
The 2007 season should be very exciting with many high intensity games. The club starts of early already playing a tournament in Eugene at the University of Oregon's home turf. Teams such as Montana, Washington, Chico State, Texas Tech and University of Oregon, University of Washingston and Eugenes club team participated. Further on During Oregon State Universities spring break the team will travel to Utah to play a few schools including BYU. The regular season is looking to have 12 League games ending in early March. After the regular season is finished there will be League Division playoffs and then the national competition which is yet to be designated.
Team Awards
Steven Carpenter a senior this year was awarded first team all-division defensemen for both the 2005 and 2006 seasons. He was also awarded the leagues most valuable player award (MVP) for the 2006 season. To add to his accomplishments in 2006 he was selected for the second team all-American award as a defenseman. Tyler Tipton also a senior was selected as a second team all-division midfielder for both the 2005 and 2006 seasons. Jon Provincer for the 2006 season selected as a second team all-division attack man. To add to his honors he was also selected as a first team academic all-American. Coach Mitch Hutchinson was selected as the coach of the year in the entire division. Along with these major accomplishments many others such as Chris Gregg, Matt Nelson, Richard Clayton and Greg Glasscock were selected as honorable mentions.

Latest Updates
Oregon State on October 21st and 22nd played a lacrosse tournament in Eugene. They played three games back to back and did very well. There first game against Montana started out slow but the Beavs pulled out a huge victory against the number 1 ranked B-league team in Pacific Northwest Collegiate Lacrosse League PNCLL. The second game was against the University of Oregon. Oregon coming into this tournament Ranked #6 nationally was running on all cylinders. Yet the Beavs fought hard and kept the game close only loosing by two goals. The third and final Game against Chico State proved to be the hardest game of the day. Oregon State fought hard and tied Chico with one minute remaining in the fourth which led to overtime. Chico and OSU battled it out in a sudden death competition which led to Chico scoring seven minutes in. Oregon State all and all for the weekend did very well and should be very positive about the upcoming season. The newest additions to the team all had a positive impact and contributed much to the success this weekend. This season should prove to be very positive for Oregon State and the mens lacrosse team.
