C.A.S.A. "Court Appointed Special Advocates"

This is currently Kappa Alpha Theta's Philanthropy and has been since 1989. This philanthropy gives the children a voice in the court systems. In the United States today, over one half of our children growing up are in a foster care facility. This is only because they can not safely live in their homes with their families. They make sure that abused and neglected children find a way to get into safe and secure homes so that every child can have a safe and permanent place to live. To this date Kappa Alpha Theta has donated more that $800,000 dollars to the C.A.S.A program.

Many people volunteer throughout the year. There are local and state offices all throughout the United States. If you would like to find out what you can do for C.A.S.A. you can go to www.nationalcasa.org and sign up to volunteer. Every year in Corvallis the local C.A.S.A. office does a C.A.S.A. fun run. It gets the community involved and is a great way to give to the charity if you don't have the time for anything else.

This year we added many new events to our philanthropy so that we could donate more money than usual. We raised a total of $2000.00 this year and donated it all to C.A.S.A. so that we could give the children a voice in the courts.
