Horses

From OSU Wiki

Currently the Polo Club owns 6 polo horses to use. You do not need to have horses to join. We receive our horses either through donation or by purchasing them with money the club has raised. Some horses the club have are loaned to us for the school year. We like to have between 10-12 horses each term. We like to have more during winter term especially for all the games we play. Winter term is the busiest with having other schools down and so the more horses we have the better for the club if one gets injured.

Contents

Andy

Andy is a bay gelding in his late teens. He is one of the clubs most reliable horses. He also has probably the most energy out of the horses.

Rosie

Rosie is probably one of our oldest grey mares being in her late twenties. We got her in poor condition and she has came such a long ways. Now she is healthy and strong and even has more energy than some of the younger horses.

Ritz

Ritz
Ritz is one of the clubs most polite horse with very good ground manners. He is a grey gelding that was donated to us from UC Davis polo. He has been one of our top horses. We don't usually have lameness issues with him which is a nice quality in a horse.

Jewell

Jewell is one of our more newer horses to polo. She came to us with little training but has turned out to be an asset to the team. She has picked up the sport quickly. She is a bay mare in her late teens also.

Love Bug

Love Bug is the most recently donated horse.

Whiskey

Whiskey is still learning the game of polo, but is picking it up well.
