Humble Beginnings
- 1971: College Pro Painters began in Canada. A college student by the name of Tim Clark spent the summer painting houses. It was this college student who planted the seed that would one day grow to something much more than a student painting during the summer.
- 1974: Tim Clark, Vice President of Human Resources of the Leadership Development Program, a subsidiary of College Pro Painters parented "The Franchise Company". Tim then signed a summer Franchise agreement.
- 1976: College Pro expanded to 18 franchisees.
- 1978: Steve Rogers, CEO of the Franchise Company, signed a summer Franchise agreement.
- 1979: College Pro founder Greig Clark recognized as Entrepeneur of the Year.
- 1980: College student P. Haymen signed a summer franchise agreement. Today, Haymen is College Pro CEO.
- 1980: College Pro began operations in the United States.
- 1981: Franchises stretched from the Atlantic to the Pacific.
- 1984: College student B. Honeyman signed a franchise agreement. Today, Honeymen is College Pro President of U.S. East.
- 1989: Greig Clark sold his interest to key senior management. With new owners, a vision of creating a world-class learning organization, and the financial backing of the new owner FirstService, College Pro expanded rapidly.
- 1989: Student J. Wall signed a franchise agreement. Today, Wall is president of College Pro U.S. West.
- 1989: College Pro launches leadership and management program, establishing itself as a learning organization.
- 1989: Student Rodney Larmand signed a franchise agreement. Today, Larmand is president of College Pro Canada.
- 1995: College Pro operates in 38 states in the U.S. and 9 provinces in Canada.
- 1997: College Pro partners with TLS. TLS is a leader in customer relationship management delivery systems for B to C relationships.
- 2001: Jay Hennik, the CEO of parent company FirstService Corporation named "Top CEO of Canada" by Canadian Business Magazine.
- 2001: CPOWER (College Pro Online Web-enabled Enterprise Resource) won the Microsoft Innovation Award for E-Business Solutions.
- 2001: College Pro partnered with Growers and Nomads out of California. Growers and Nomads is a world class leader in brand development and management.
- 2001: Estimates a running 200,000 homes painted since 1971, producing sales of over $300,000,000 in 30 years.
- 2001: College pro painted over 18,000 homes this year.
- 2002: Ivey Business School, one of the world class business schools, continues to use College Pro Painters as a case study.
