Portland is only a short drive away from Corvallis and a wonderful experience with activities for all. Head east on Hwy 34 to I-5 North. Jump on I-5 North and travel for about an hour to two hours depending on where you’re heading. Once there you find many things to do such as the Saturday market or visit the Portland Zoo. Maybe science is more your thing and you could visit the Oregon Museum of Science and Industry which is a hands on interactive museum full of a wide variety of activities. If you’re interested is not already peeked, maybe an outdoor activity such as a walk through one of the many specialty gardens such as the Terraced rose garden or Japanese Garden would be more fitting. If it's a nice day then I strongly suggest walking along the waterfront in downtown, which features fountains and good family atmosphere. Also, if your in to sports, then why not stop by the Rose Garden Stadium to see the professional basketball team play; The Portland Trail Blazers. To say the least there is a wide variety of possible activities only a short drive away.
