skiing
There are plenty of resorts for skiing in Oregon. For example, Mt. Bachelor, Mt. Hood Meadows, Mt Hood SkiBowl, Hoodoo, and so on. But most of them are too far away from Corvallis, and that also means it will cost us a lot to have fun there. There is one place that allows us to have fun, and cost us least. That is Mary's Peak. You can either enjoy the snow view, or go skiing as you like there in winter and spring. Besides that, you can go hiking, fishing, or camping there in summer and fall as well. Here is the Mary's Peak page. There's a page about Mary's Peak in OSU wiki, as well.
Outdoor Recreation
Oregon has a wealth of outdoor recreation activities to offer. One of the best places in this state to go for some outdoor fun year-round is Central Oregon. While not exactly close to Corvallis, it is somewhere that people should definitely visit--especially if they are new to Oregon. During the summer there are tons of places for canoeing, kayaking, rafting, hiking, biking, horseback riding, camping, sight-seeing and so much more! And of course, during the winter there is skiing and snowboarding up on Mt. Bachelor but there are also other activities like snowshoeing and snowmobiling. Below are some links to sites that are great for looking at places to visit, places to stay, and things to do in Central Oregon (as well as the rest of the state).
