Darkside Cinema
For those of you who are like me; people who love independent films and watch the IFC too much there is the perfect place for you. The Darkside is a fairly new place, it's only been running for about a year now. I like this theatre a lot because it's small and more intimate feeling. I also love independent film. If you are not too familiar with indepenent film I suggest you become better aquainted. You're not going to find any great special effects or big budget movie stars in a lot of independent films because of the fact that they're done independently but what you give up there you will make up in great writing and acting. The darkside is in the heart of downtown Corvallis and there are lots of great places around it. There is a Starbucks right across the intersection from there, there are a couple of good bars around, and there is also the waterfront park just up the street. With a good movie and good surroundings, the Darkside is the perfect place for you to take a date to. Corvallis is home to one of the very few Carmike Cinemas on the pacific coast. It has the capacity to show up to 12 movies, all with stadium seating. It has a very clean and inviting atmosphere, and the staff provides superior customer service. You get all this plus a movie for a very reasonable price.
