History

Delta Sigma Phi was started at the College of the City of New York on December 10, 1899 and this college was know as Insula later to become known as the Alpha Chapter. The Fraternity was started because at the time fraternities did not allow mixed religion in them and were either Christian or Jewish. However a group of friends wishing to continue thier friendship with a fraternal bond decided to start their own fraternity since they could not join an existing one together. This fraternity was fonded on the acceptance of difference between memebers an prmotes diversity and harmony. These traits and values are still highly valued today and helps Delta Sigma Phi prosper. The Next two chapters founded were Morningside at the University of New York and Technology at New York State University. These two chapters became Beta and Gamma. OSU is the Beta Epsilon Chapter of Delta Sigma Phi and has been at osu since 1928 other than during world war II and two breaks during the 60's and the 80's.
