Home Life

Home Life is a non-profit in Corvallis that serves adults with developmental dissabilities. There are many rewarding volunteer activities for students at Home Life as well as paid positions.

Home Life is always looking for volunteers. There are numerous opportunities to make a difference in somebody's life. Home Life is offering a program called 'Telephone Dates', which allows clients to receive support over the telephone on a more frequent basis and gives volunteers the freedom to offer their support in a less time consuming way. Volunteers can arrange to be callers at any time their schedule allows.

Other volunteer opportunities exist as well. Home Life offers a few fitness related ways to volunteer time including Fitness Class. Home Life is looking for volunteers to assit the clients in one-on-one fitness activities. The next session of fitness class will begin this fall. Also Duplex is looking for one or two volunteers to accompany three clients to Osborn Aquatic Center and be swim buddies.

Lastly, Home Life is looking for a Nutrionist. Home Life's volunteer nutrionist would serve to educate the Supported Living Staff on the low glycemic diets, control and treatment of diabetes, and basic nutrition. Home Life is looking for a graduate student or senior in a nutrition or health related field who would be willing to lead a one-time class on these topics.

I know from personal experience that you feel really good and blessed when you see the smiles on the thankful faces of the people you can serve at Home Life.
