Background Infomation

Coed season is during Spring term and is a more relaxed environment where people who love the sport can get together and play. It’s usually a team made up of both the Men’s and Women’s Water Polo Clubs. Now, it's not only for those who are experienced. This is actually a great opportunity for those who have never played before to get some one on one help without the pressures of playing in tournaments. Yes, we do play in tournaments, but they act more as a scrimmage between schools. There are no fees associated with this club, however, if you are a newcomer, you must fill out a waiver form located at the Dixon Recreation Center in the Club Sports Office. The costs of tournaments depend on where they are, and funding is provided by both the OSU Men and Women's Water Polo Clubs. Any additional costs will be paid by participants. This usually doesn't exceed $10.

Practice Information

We have practices on Wednesday and Thursday from 7-8:30pm. They are held at Langton Pool, right across from the Bookstore. These practice times were scheduled this way because there are open night water polo scrimmages on Mondays at the Albany Community Pool from 8:00 PM till 9:30 PM as well as on Tuesday at the Osborne Aquatic Center from 7:30 PM till 8:45 PM.

Tournaments

Like I mentioned before, we do participate in tournaments, however, these act more like scrimmages. This term (Spring 2006), we have gone to a tournament at Linfield College. We also have an upcoming tournament down in Eugene on the 3rd and 4th of June. This is going to be hosted by the University of Oregon.
