Choosing the Right Wiki for Class Notes
At least three wikis are available to store notes, tips, and suggestions about your classes at OSU. Right now it isn't certain which wiki will become the best or dominant place for putting this sort of information.
Here are your three choices today:
Official OSU Class Notes Wiki
The Official OSU Class Notes Wiki was established by OSU's Central Web Services at the request of the Services for Students with Disabilities Office. It became live with the beginning of Spring term 2006.
Since the SSD Office is actually paying students to contribute to this wiki, it has begun receiving a fair amount of content. Since this is the official OSU Wiki for Class Notes, it is likely to gain support fairly rapidly.
As of April 14, 2006 its Main Page had been accessed 250 times.
GroupNotes.Net Wiki
The Oregon State portion of the GroupNotes.Net wiki claims its goal is to "create a comprehensive database of class notes for each course offered at Oregon State University." It was created a bit before the Official OSU Class Notes Wiki, so it has a bit of first-mover advantage.
As of April 14, 2006, its main OSU Class List page had been accessed 1048 times.
CampusNotes.Net Wiki
The CampusNotes.Net wiki has a slogan of "Helping students through college." This wiki is part of a larger website that allows students to post classified ads, sell textbooks, or read about student clubs.
As of April 14, 2006, its main page had been accessed 6730 times.
