The Well
The Well gathers weekly on Sunday mornings at 10:03 at the Majestic Theartre (Downtown on 2nd St.) We also meet throughout the week in homes, coffee shops, and parks. We believe everyone is on a spiritual journey. You may be trying to figure out who God is and how God might relate to you. Maybe you have wandered and are sensing a desire to reconnect, or you are a follower of Christ and have a thirst to grow stronger and deeper in your spiritual walk. Wherever you are, we welcome you!
Northwest Hills Community Church
North West Hills Community Church Northwest Hills Community Church was officially organized October 22, 1968. The first public service was held November 3, 1968, at Jefferson School in Corvallis. Ministry on our present church campus began in 1972. We praise God for His faithfulness in our history, and we look to the future with great confidence in Him.
Jesus Christ, the Son of God and the Lord of life, is our message. We seek to teach the Bible in such a way that all would fully follow Christ and effectively represent Him to a lost world. Our teachings are based solidly on the Scriptures, and our goal is to make them clear and applicable to life in the twenty-first century.
Northwest Hills is popular with many college students because of the upbeat music and 10:45 Sunday service time.
Northwest Hills also has a college group called 2fortytwo that meets every Tuesday night in the school year. 2fortytwo meets from 7-9 on Tuesdays for worship, teaching, and fellowship.
Suburban Christian Church
Suburban Christian Church, located at 2760 SW 53rd St., has a large number of Oregon State University student attendees. The church offers one service on Saturday from 7:00-8:30 p.m., and three services Sunday, with starting times of 8:15, 9:30, and 11:00 a.m. The Saturday evening service is more casual than the other three, while the latest two services on Sunday offer more contemporary music than the 8:15 a.m. service.
Suburban also has a college-age ministry on campus at Oregon State. In addition to small-group Bible studies, retreats, home dinners, and weekly outreach activities, sub.U meets every Sunday morning at 9:30 am at Suburban for worship, teaching and dialogue. The focus of the college ministry is experiencing God and building relationships with God and one another through small groups, 1-on-1 mentoring, and real community.
Calvary Chapel
Calvary Chapel is located at 1435 SW 35th St. The church operates out of Westland Middle School and meets there weekly on Sundays. Sunday services are at 8:30 and 10:00 a.m. and provide childcare as well as separate services for junior high and high school. To get in touch with Calvary call (541)752-2851.
Calvary is connected to Oregon State via its on campus ministry, Real Life, which meets in the building across from the baseball field and next to Waldo Hall and Snell/MU East. Services take place on Tuesdays from 7 to 8:30 p.m. and present teaching from the Holy Bible, as well as singing praise songs and allowing Christian and nonchristian students from campus and offcampus to form connections.
Off-campus, the House of Charis is owned and ran by Calvary. This is an all girl house dedicated to promoting Christian values in the lives of students. Also, Calvary operates several meeting times at member houses and has several ministries, ranging from barbecue to support for missionaries to other countries.
Doxology
Doxology is located at the Platinum bar, 126 SW 4th St. The Church meets on Sundays at 11:00 a.m.
Why have church at a bar you might ask? We want to welcome everyone and sometimes people feel they are not welcome at a church or feel as if they don't belong. We want everyone and anyone to see what we are about.
Pastor Peter Kelley says, "Doxology is a community of people dedicated to following God in the Way of Jesus, claiming the Truth wherever we can find it, and discovering the Life we were meant to live. We don't claim to have all of the answers, but we are committed to searching for them together. So, wether you've been a student-follower of Jesus for a long time, or are just curious about Him, we invite you to come share your journey with us.
The name 'doxology' comes from the greek meaning glory speaking. We respond with praise as God reveals Himself to us daily.
Our core values are to daily respond to God's truth and beauty with faith as a community.
Dox has an amazing worship team led by Casey Hurt. The band is loud and proud of it.
