Background

****this club appears to be inactive or disbanded.****

The OSU Car Club (OSUCC) was started in the winter of 2006. It began as a group of college students trying to find a community of similar automobile interests. It is committed to creating a safe, open and diverse community for students interested in automobiles. We are committed to encouraging and facilitating automotive education, safety, and the exploration of automotive topics in general to the members of OSUCC as well as to the OSU community. Through member meetings and social events, community wide events and presentations, OSUCC will promote and inspire a responsible involvement in the automotive world.

OSUCC is strongly committed to diversity, to treating all with dignity and respect, and to opposing discrimination, prejudice, and oppression. In the automotive world, this includes discrimination in terms of the type (style, year, etc.) of the automobile an individual owns/operates, or being able to own/operate an automobile.

Forum

The car club currently consists of 109 members and growing daily. Members cars range from old muscle cars to 2006 model luxury and sports cars. There is an organized board consisting of a president, vise president, secretary, treasurer and an OSU staff member. On the OSUCC forum ****EDIT forums don't work and have not been used since 2007**** members discuss a variety of topics. Anything from how to pull off a complete motor swap to picking out new tires.

Meets

Meets consist of gathering at a specific location in Corvallis, then discussing cars and anything else that comes to mind. Often times this is followed by dinner or hanging out at someone's house. There are weekly meets each Friday around 7:00pm. Typically, the weekly meets take place at a local park off campus.

Other Local Car Forums

The fun doesn't end at OSU. There are many forums available for car enthusiasts. There are a few forums/clubs that are for all makes and models. Then someone can get more specific and join forums more directed at a specific manufacturer and even at specific models. Listed below are a few popular forums:

  • Carfreeks is an up and coming website that is open to all makes and models.
  • NASIOC is one of the largest subaru forums in the U.S.
  • North West Street Racing is a diverse forum. It is a well put together forum, however at OSUCC we do not condone street racing in any way, shape, or form.
  • Northwestnissans is a northwest nissan car club site
