Bula Realty

From OSU Wiki

Bula Realty is a local company that specializes in inexpensive rentals. Their houses can be easily recognized by a red front door and usually a "cash for your house" sign out front. Although the allure of cheap rent and no lease agreement sounds promising, this company has been found to be much more trouble than it is worth.

Our experience with Bula was very unpleasant.

The house that we lived in was in a continual state of disrepair that was never tended to. We sent in several written requests to fix our broken furnace, multiple water leaks and other problems, most of which were ignored or only fixed temporarily.

We were served with an eviction notice at one point for not paying rent, which was a result of Bula "forgetting" that they had cashed the check weeks before. They demanded we pay an additional month's rent, and relented only after we provided written proof of the check being cashed.

Our neighbors, also renting from Bula, often complained about holes in the walls and floors, intermittent water and electricity and a lack of willingness on the landlord's part to fix anything.

All in all, Bula promises low rent, an easy month-to-month contract and nothing more. I would not recommend them to anybody who wants a well-kept house or landlords who are easy to deal with.
