SAE at Oregon State

SAE is the biggest house on campus in terms of members out of all fraternities. We have more then 90 active members on campus and are still getting more each week.

As SAE’s we go by the creed of the True Gentleman, a creed that goes,

The True Gentleman is the man whose conduct proceeds from good will and an acute sense of propriety, and whose self-control is equal to all emergencies; who does not make the poor man conscious of his poverty, the obscure man of his obscurity, or any man of his inferiority or deformity; who is himself humbled if necessity compels him to humble another; who does not flatter wealth, cringe before power, or boast of his own possessions or achievements; who speaks with frankness but always with sincerity and sympathy; whose deed follows his word; who thinks of the rights and feelings of others, rather than his own; and who appears well in any company, a man with whom honor is sacred and virtue safe.

-John Walter Wayland

I know these are just words for some people, but they are way more to any SAE. We strive to be the True Gemtleman

Miss Minerva

Minerva, Goddess of Wisdom. At Oregonstate University, We at Sigma Alpha Epsilon have the structure and the desire to give back to those whom are in need, which is why, once a year, we hold our annual Philanthropy called "Miss Minerva". Miss Minerva is basically a pageant in which ladies from various sorities and organizations delegate one of their most esteemed representatives and enter them into the competition. This competition has various events in which the ladies compete under various categories such as, Formal Wear, Community Service, Talents, and so forth. The winner and runners-up win scholorships and the additional proceeds from ticket sales and other fundraising goes to the "Childrens Miracle Network" to help children in need. Miss Minerva is typically held in early March, so if your around, we encourage you to come, and spend a fun evening supporting outstanding women and needy children.

The Biggest Event Yet For SAE

SAE is having its 150th celebration this weekend in Alabama. There are over 700 people that have registered for this event, from all over the world. There are 4 people from the SAE house at Oregon State going. This event is said to be the biggest event SAE has ever had.

New Changes In The House

The house has just elected new officers for the upcoming year. With new officers come new ideas. There have been lots of discussions inside the executive circle on how to improve the house. We came up with new ways to improve the community service inside the house and how we can get more involvement from the members inside the house. It is going to be another great year for SAE.
