There could be a lot of business applications for Wikis internally and externally. I would like to hear some ideas on the application of the wiki system:

These pages might contain lists of ideas about how the BA271 wiki should evolve ... or they might contain similar lists of ideas about how OSU should use wikis.

1. Help cut costs at Disability Services.
2. Make class notes available to everyone.
   1. More students that add notes, the better.
3. Make everyone more familiar with wiki.
4. Give a chance for students to become familiar with basic wiki editing and revising from peers and instructors.
5. Could become a question and answer forum for students and teachers.
6. Make an additional set of class notes available to everyone, in addition to their own notes. Could provide a different perspective on what was taught!
7. Allow for collaboration in creating a functional online resource directory.
8. Create a clearing house for rapidly changing, but critical information (during, say, a flood or major storm).
9. Allow for students to know a little more about each other. This is a large class and it is hard to get to know people well in such a setting.
   1. Easy for each user to create a page, just click on your own name at the top of the screen.
10. I think it might be a fun thing to do for the University if people could have a place to post social aspects or questions about OSU and Corvallis. For example, students could post their favorite places they like to eat at around town. If you were an incoming freshman and didn't know really what was around, you could see what places people like. You could also find out about new clubs or events that are going on.
    1. By listing social events, students at OSU could meet for various events and get to know one another better. For example, someone could post that they were planning to see a movie on Friday night and invite anyone who wanted to come. This way, people viewing the wiki could see different social events, attend them, and make new friends!
    2. This concept could also keep people up to date on the always active ASOSU activities. These people represent us, the State, the Faculty, and the Staff. They are our porthole to the outside world, and a wiki could provide a dynamic place for concerns and issues to be dealt with.
11. As far as using the wiki as a way of gathering general information around and on campus, you could just converge all most of the seperate webpages to this wiki, or have seperate wikis for each department that connect to each other. So that if you are in one wiki you could still have access to the other wikis. That way the wikis don't overlap each other.
12. I believe a wiki could be a great place to shine light on different philanthropies going on around corvallis. Obviously a BA271 wiki would not be the right place, but a community wiki would be.
