Once you submit a new piece of content or edit an existing one, it will go into the approval queue. This gives gatekeepers the ability to review your changes.
You can also review your edits before they get accepted by using the My account link. See that tutorial for a full explanation of what you can do with your queued requests.
Once a gatekeepers reviews your changes, they can accept or reject them. Should they accept the changes, then they will become live at that point.
As a gatekeeper, you will be able to approval the content that is added and edited on your site. There is an Approval Queue link in the left-hand navigation that will take you to the Approval Queue.
All of the content awaiting approval will be listed on this page. The check-boxes to the left of the titles allow you to approve or reject multiple pieces of content at once.
Information about each piece of content follows the title. Here the user that submitted the content is listed as well as the type of content, the type of submission and the date the submission was made.
There are also operations that can be performed on each content. You can preview the changes by clicking on the Preview link. You will also get a preview of content when you try to approve or reject a single submission. There is also a link to edit the content should you want to make any addition changes. Finally, there are links to approve or reject the content. Clicking on either of these will take you to a new page where a preview will be displayed in addition to a text box. In this text box, you can add notes to the author that will be tied to this submission.
Once a piece of content has been approved or rejected, it will be removed from the queue.
As a final note, as a gatekeeper, you will be able to create content as well as approve your own content. This may seem tedious, but will serve as a double check on all pieces of content. This helps keep your site free of typos and mistakes. When you go to approve your own content, take the time to review the preview. The time will be well vested.
