Getting Started:
If you are continuing directly from part one of this tutorial then you can skip the getting started section.
- To begin click the ‘Create Content’ link in the left sidebar navigation.
- From the ‘Create Content’ page select the custom content type you have created for your random image block.
- Now you are ready to fill out the content.
Creating the Content:
For the examples I will be using a few images of OSU’s different logos, feel free to use your own images.
- First you will want to fill out the ‘Title’ for your image; this is the title that will head the page that is created for the image. I’m going to be adding the OSU academic logo so I gave my ‘Title’ the value Academic Logo.
- Next, below the ‘Title’ field, you will want to browse for your image. So hit the browse button. Once you have located your image and pressed ok, press the upload button and allow your image to upload.
- Once the ‘Alternate text’ and ‘Title’ fields appear next to the image you just uploaded fill these in. The ‘Alternate Text’ is text that will be displayed in the event that the image can not be displayed. The ‘Title’ is text that will appear when you hover over the image. For the OSU academic logo I used OSU’s Academic logo for both the ‘Alternate Text’ and ‘Title’.
- Next in the ‘Image Description’ text area, fill in a short description of the image.
- Once you have completed the ‘Image Description’ press the submit button. Now you have an image to use in your random image block. All that’s left is to have the image approved in the approval queue.
- Complete these steps one or two more times to add more images. This way the final random image block will have a few images to select from to randomly display. Once you have a few images entered and approved move on to the next section in order to create the view.
