When you select "Create content" from the menu items, you are given a choice of using an announcement or a page. An announcement is an entry that will have a visibility start and end date.
First item to complete is the "Title". This field is required.
Publication date is when your announcement will appear. You can set it to be published in the future or to appear immediately.
The Expiration date is when you want to have the announcement no longer viewable by audiences.
In the Body section, you can copy and past content from another source, or you can type in your text. Available styles and formats are selected from the pull-down menus. There are more instructions for using the editor icons under "formatting options."
Log message is where you can provide comments for others. You can view your content as a Web page by selecting "Preview" or you can select "Submit" and your page will be placed in an approval queue for the Gatekeeper or Administrator to process.
