A one-week elective course on the training, physiology and care of athletic dogs and horses.
This one-week elective will include lectures regarding basic exercise physiology, sports related injuries, sports injury rehabilitation and training and nutrition of equine and canine athletes, including sled dogs, greyhounds, race horses and other animal athletes. A one-day field trip will include visits to a canine rehabilitation facility and an equine rehabilitation facility. Practical classes and demonstrations will include examination of sporting dog injuries, equine therapeutic exercises and splinting and bandaging for equine emergencies.

Qualified veterinarian and physical therapist for over 20 years. Dr. Paulekas is also certified in Veterinary Manual Therapy and Veterinary Medical Acupuncture.
