Programs

The College of Veterinary Medicine is organized into two academic departments, the Department of Biomedical Sciences and the Department of Clinical Sciences.

The Biomedical Sciences department includes faculty in the disciplines of anatomy, physiology, immunology, pathology, clinical pathology, infectious diseases (bacteriology, mycology, virology, parasitology), and public health. The Clinical Sciences department includes faculty in the disciplines of internal medicine, surgery, theriogenology, oncology, cardiology, diagnostic imaging, anesthesiology, and rural veterinary practice. Academic departments serve the professional development needs of academic faculty in support of the teaching, research and service missions of the College.

To address targeted needs and opportunities for service to Oregon and the nation, faculty have selected the following areas of emphasis for programmatic development. Generally, these programs involve all three Land Grant missions of the college (teaching, research, and service) and arise from the collaboration of faculty and staff across academic departments of the College and the University.

•    Sports and rehabilitation medicine
•    Oregon Cancer Care for Animals
•    Endophyte testing and research
