Greetings and welcome to University Housing & Dining Services at Oregon State University! We are pleased that you will be living on campus, and look forward to helping you make your stay a great experience. We in UHDS have four key goals for students who are living with us; we want you to:
- Feel a sense of belonging, safety, and mutual respect in your residence hall, cooperative house, or student family apartment;
- Succeed in your academic courses and studies, and make solid progress toward graduating from OSU;
- Be a responsible citizen and member of your residential community, and your University; and
- Be a part of and enjoy the many activities and opportunities for learning, involvement, friendship, leadership, and fun that come with living on campus at OSU.
We believe that living in an OSU campus residence can actually enrich and enhance your university education, as well as make your life at OSU more comfortable and convenient. Living on campus will give you many opportunities to get to know -- and to learn with and from -- your fellow students from across Oregon and the U.S., and from many other countries around the world as well. University Housing and Dining Services staff – your Resident Assistant (RA), Coop Director, Maintenance and Custodial teams, Resident Director, Dining Center staff, Service Center staff, faculty and academic partners, and the folks in our administrative offices – are ready and willing to work for and with you to provide a great living, learning, and dining experience this year.
Welcome to a great university -- Oregon’s Land Grant university -- that has been home to the only two-time individual Nobel Prize winner, a world-famous cookbook author, back-to-back NCAA National Champion baseball teams, a residence hall named in honor of a distinguished alumna and educator, the inventor of the computer mouse, the NBA’s “Ironman,” and the first American woman to reach the summit of Mount Everest … a university where your opportunities are limited only by your imagination and passion.
Seize the opportunities, take care of each other and your new “home away from home,” and have a great year!
Director, University Housing & Dining Services
