Parents & Families
In University Housing & Dining Services (UHDS), we also acknowledge that for many, the student going to college is not just a major life transition for the student, but also for the parents or families of that student. Many families are not aware of the programs and resources available both to their students and to them at the university.
Although, federal privacy laws don't allow OSU staff to share with parents or families student records, including grades, accounts, etc. without written consent from the student, we recognize the importance of a relationship. We strive to provide as much information possible to parents and families, so that they can contribute to their student´s experience at OSU. Whereas the greatest responsibility for learning and behavior is placed on the student, UHDS staff partners with the student's family to help him/her become successful students at OSU.
