Are you looking for a unique conference and event environment for your participants? We can provide dining service that gives you a range of menu selections and catering services from which to choose. We also provide affordable conference lodging and dining with on-campus convenience.

Oregon State University is committed to providing education and academic research through on-campus classes, extended and distance learning, and auxiliary programs that support the university's mission. We require that all conference groups obtain university sponsorship through an OSU department or agency to use campus residential and dining facilities for conferences.

Conference Housing & Dining Services at OSU are available to eligible adult, student, and youth conference groups.

Reserve Your Space… at Our Place

Conference reservations fill up quickly and are on a first-come, first-reserved basis for eligible groups. We accept reservation requests (in writing) up to two years in advance, depending on the needs and commitment of the conference sponsor. We'd like to hear from you.

Conference Guest Housing

Residence Halls
  • Summertime availability* for conferences.
  • Guest housing in complexes on the east, south, and west sides of campus, convenient to dining centers and meeting facilities.
  • Several newly constructed and recently renovated facilities available.
  • Clean, furnished, and well-lit residence halls. Entrance by key or proximity card only for guest comfort and safety.
  • Standard and suite-style residence halls to choose from, with accommodations for 150-235 guests each. Elevator access in most halls.
  • Total campus capacity of 1,500-3,000 beds (depending on availability), offers flexibility for small and large conference groups.
  • Laundry facilities, kitchenettes, and lounges in each hall; choose as optional amenities for guest comfort and enjoyment on longer stays.
  • Linen service (bedding and towels, daily exchange) and front desk service options.
  • Alcohol-free and smoke-free facilities for guest health and safety.
  • Academic year housing is located in Cauthorn Hall only.
    • *Note: Due to increased demand, from June 2009 on there will be no academic year conference space available.
Guest Rooms
  • Affordable, double-occupancy rooms with corridor-style floor plans; gender-specific bathrooms on the end of each wing. Choose double occupancy for best value.
  • Some single-occupancy rooms for guests desiring additional privacy.
  • Suites, with connecting bathrooms between two double occupancy rooms (same gender), offer increased privacy and convenience. Individual sinks in some rooms.
  • Accessible rooms (ADA compliant), TTYs, special smoke detectors, and other accommodations for guests with medical or mobility needs.
  • Clean guest rooms have twin beds, wardrobe or traditional closets, desks and desk chairs. Windows open for fresh air.
  • Public telephones on main floor. Telephone jacks and Internet-ready electrical outlets in each room for guests bringing their own telephones or laptop computers.
The Gem
  • OSU has contracted with Housing Northwest to renovate and provide management for the Gem (formerly the College Inn). This facility can accommodate adult groups of up to 70 depending on availability. Contact them directly at: 541-713-7222, email: info@thegem.org or web: www.thegem.org.

Conference Guest Dining

Dining Centers
  • Clean, inviting, and well-lit dining centers. Each has a central theme for visual appeal.
  • Dining centers located on the east, south, and west sides of campus, convenient to residence hall complexes and various meeting facilities.
  • Fast, friendly service. Cafeteria or food court style design offers flexibility.
  • A variety of buffet or à la carte menu items from which to choose.
  • Fresh meat, vegetarian, and vegan food selections, made to order to satisfy guests' tastes and preferences.
  • Convenience stores and espresso shops with pre-packaged food and beverages for "grab and go" efficiency. (Cash only at these food outlets)
  • Open for breakfast, lunch, and dinner hours in summer - three meals per day. During the academic year we offer continuous meal services seven days a week.
  • Smoke-free accommodations for guest health and safety.
Meal Plans
  • Pre-arranged magnetic "meal cards" to record total meals eaten or purchased. Offers convenience and simplicity for guests.
  • Meal service by conference meal card or cash purchase at individual food concepts.
  • Ample seating available. Staggered meal times for efficient service to large conference groups.
  • Housing and meal plan package rates offer substantial saving and best value.
  • Commuter meal plans (lunch and dinner only) available for local guests.

Catering Services

  • OSU Catering can provide wide variety of appetizing menu selections for informal and elegant occasions of all kinds. Themed menu items for special events.
  • Customized menu planning and catering recommendations upon request.
  • Special decorations available for ambiance (balloons, flowers, table linens, etc.).
  • China service for formal occasions. Box lunches and "take out" food options.
  • Extended meal service available. On-campus and off-campus deliveries.
  • Equipment rental (audiovisual, podiums, extra tables and chairs) for guest convenience.
  • Various-sized banquet rooms, accommodating 24 to more than 300 guests. Banquet rooms available for catered events and as additional meeting space.
