IMPORTANT INFORMATION
All halls and cooperative houses will close at 5 p.m. on Friday, June 13th. If
you need to make arrangements to stay later due to a late final or graduation
ceremonies, please sign up for late checkout at the Service Center no later
than Wednesday, June 11th.
Sign up ahead of time with your hall staff to check out of your room. If you
are checking out Monday-Wednesday of Finals Week, you will pick up your room
inventory card at your Service Center. If you are checking out Thursday-Friday
of Finals Week, you will pick up your room inventory card with your RA at your
checkout appointment. Your room will need to be empty and cleaned prior to your
checkout appointment. For more details, see http://oregonstate.edu/uhds/current_students/end_of_year.php or talk to a Resident Assistant or Cooperative House Director.

In the main lounge of your building (or if you live in Weatherford, the recycle
room in the D-wing basement) you can donate unwanted clothes, food, and
household items to charity. UHDS and Campus Recycling are partnering with local
organizations to help you give back to the community. All food and clothing
donations will make their way to someone in need right here in the Corvallis
area. Personal furniture and usable carpets are also welcome – look for signs
or talk to your RD about where to put these.
You might notice the recycle bins go missing from their usual locations this
week. We’re putting them in the large public spaces of your hall (lounge, near
elevator, etc) to make the move-out process easier for all. Please use these
for your paper (textbooks, spiral notebooks, old class notes, junk mail) and
cans/bottles; help limit the amount of waste you’re placing in the dumpster.
2008 EBI Resident Survey

The Spring 2008 EBI Resident Survey has been completed. The following students
were randomly selected as the recipients of the incentives.

Thank you for all who participated in this year’s survey.
As the term winds down, we want to remind students who are residents of the
halls that any unused UHDS Dining Dollars left on their accounts will be lost
if not used by Friday, June 13, 2008. To see your current balance, simply log
on to the MyCard website at: https://mycard.oregonstate.edu.
You can use our UHDS Dining Dollar Budget Guide (http://oregonstate.edu/uhds/dining/plans/money_matters/budgeting.php)
to help manage the remaining dollars on your account during the last few weeks
of the academic year. If you would like to change your meal plan, you can do so
until June 1 at the nearest service center.

Late Night Activities and the Residence Hall Association are doing one final
event to capture the memories of a great year!
Give a Shirt, Get a Shirt is a large clothing exchange that either lets you take a shirt from someone else, or create a brand new shirt with a variety of craft activities. Please bring your old shirts and clothing items that are still wearable, but no longer wanted. Clothing not taken will be donated to local organizations to help the homeless in Corvallis. There will be tie-dying of white shirts and bleaching of colored shirts to create some amazing effects! We will have new shirts that are FREE for residents to use!

English Language Institute Conversation Partner Volunteers
The English Language Institute
(ELI) at OSU is in URGENT need of conversation partner volunteers for our 2008
summer session. Conversants meet a group of 4 to 6 international students over
lunch from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. once a week during the work week so these
students can practice speaking English. Conversants pick the day they would
like to meet during the week (Monday through Friday), and meet six or seven
times during summer term -- June 30th through August 8th. We have students
coming from countries like Japan, Saudi Arabia, Thailand, Taiwan, S. Korea, and
more!
If you would like to volunteer for the ELI Conversant Program, please come to
Snell Hall, room 304A, to fill out an application and sign up for a short
interview. You can also call Candy Pierson-Charlton at 737-6981 for more
information.

OSU Marketing Efforts Conversation
OSU is about to embark upon an
institutional branding campaign designed to increase the University's national
visibility. To help us with this effort, a national higher education marketing
firm, Lipman Hearne, has been hired. The firm will be on campus on June 18 and
representatives want to speak with current students to get a sense of your
experiences here.
If you have experiences to share and are interested in shaping OSU's future
marketing efforts, we encourage you to attend a special lunch-time conversation
group with Lipman Hearne on Wednesday, June 18 from 12:30-2:00 p.m. in the
Memorial Union. We assure good food and discussion that will help us make
decisions about how to talk about OSU to prospective students.
Please email us at marketing.interns@oregonstate.edu if you are interested in participating and we'll get you more information and
sign you up.
