CORVALLIS, Ore. — Oregon State University leads the state’s schools, colleges and universities in jobs supported by the State Fiscal Stabilization portion of the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act.
In funds distributed through the Oregon Department of Education, OSU received $17.8 million by Sept. 30 to support faculty salaries and benefits. Based on calculations of base salaries and full-time equivalency, these funds supported 394 jobs.
Portland State University reported 320 jobs created or saved, the second largest number among Oregon educational institutions.
OSU has also received ARRA research funds totaling $18.8 million through the National Science Foundation, the National Institutes of Health and the U.S. Department of Agriculture.
