CORVALLIS, Ore. – The Oregon State University Board of Trustees will meet on Thursday, March 31, to endorse the 2017-19 biennial funding requests, establish tuition and mandatory fees for the academic year 2016-17 and summer 2017, and consider issuance of revenue bonds.
The board will also hear a panel discussion on considerations regarding the siting of a Marine Studies building in Newport.
The meeting will be from 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. in the Horizon Room of the Memorial Union, 2501 S.W. Jefferson Way in Corvallis. It is open to the public.
A public comment period is provided at each board meeting. Commenters are allowed up to five minutes and may register by e-mail before the meeting by contacting Marcia Stuart at email@example.com, or may register at the meeting itself. Commenters must sign up prior to the public comment period of the meeting.
Each of the board’s three standing committees will meet on Wednesday, March 30, in the Horizon Room of the Memorial Union. These meetings are also open to the public:
- The Executive and Audit Committee will meet from 8-9:15 a.m. to review the university’s quarterly audit report and to discuss risk management and development of a presidential recruitment policy.
- The Academic Strategies Committee will meet from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. to consider House Bill 3375, the Educator Equity Plan, and proposed new academic programs in bioengineering and data analytics. The committee will also hear presentations on graduate learning and educational experience; research conducted at OSU; and a status report on new and existing academic program reviews will be provided.
- The Finance and Administration Committee will meet from 1-4:15 p.m. to discuss the outlook for OSU’s operating and capital budget. The committee will consider fiscal year 2017 tuition rates and mandatory fees; 2017-19 biennial funding requests; and the issuance of OSU revenue bonds.
