CORVALLIS, Ore. -- More than 1,800 high school students and another 600 parents, advisors and alumni will be at Oregon State University for the Oregon FFA convention tomorrow, March 19, through Monday, March 22. Most of the activities will be at the LaSells Stewart Center on campus.
FFA is a nationally affiliated student organization designed for students who wish to be leaders in and pursue a career in some phase of agriculture: production agriculture, agriscience, agribusiness or agricultural marketing. It was chartered in Oregon in 1929.
Students at the convention will participate in competitive events such as public speaking, parliamentary procedure, agricultural marketing, job interviewing and more.
PHOTO OPPORTUNITY: On Sunday, March 21, at 11 a.m. a photo of all student participants lined up to spell “FFA” will be taken on the OSU football field.
