CORVALLIS, Ore.-The Oregon State University Student Alumni Association will attempt to set a new record for the number of people performing the dance to the Michael Jackson song “Thriller,” beginning at 6:15 p.m. Friday, Oct. 30 in Reser Stadium.
Brianne Kiso, the recruitment chair for the Student Alumni Association, will be teaching the dance moves with several other local dance teachers. The OSU Marching Band is also participating in the event in preparation for their halftime performance the following day. The final performance will be recorded and placed on social media sites such as YouTube and Facebook.
Students, alumni, and community participation will be needed to break the record. Interested parties can go to www.osualum.com/homecoming for a description of the event, or join the “Thriller Dance! Event Held by Student Alumni Association” page on Facebook for the latest updates.
The event is part of the OSU Homecoming Week, Oct. 29-31. The performance was inspired by the Homecoming theme, “Haunted by Orange: Beat the Bruins,” as the game falls on Oct. 31 this year.
Participants are asked to wear their Beaver Gear and show up at Reser Stadium at 6 p.m.
