Philomath Student Honored as OSU Outstanding Senior

CORVALLIS, Ore. – Ryan Siegel, an Oregon State University senior from Philomath, has earned the Western Agricultural Economics Association Outstanding Senior Award.

The award is presented to an outstanding senior in OSU's Department of Agricultural and Resource Economics.

Siegel, an OSU environmental economics, policy, and management major, has served as a research assistant in the Department of Agricultural and Resource Economics, as well as working as a student technician in OSU's Technical Support Services department.

He coordinated the "Embrace the World 2004 Spring Concert Tour" in Corvallis and has chaired the campus' Bahá’í Unity Club.

Siegel spent the summer of 2005 serving as a volunteer with the Bayan Association in La Ceiba, Honduras. The group is a non-governmental, non-profit organization founded in 1986 to aid the social and economic development of Honduras.
