CORVALLIS - The Weyerhaeuser Company Foundation has agreed to give $27,000 to the College of Forestry at Oregon State University to fund $3,000 annual stipends for graduate students, a part of its Weyerhaeuser Graduate Fellowship Program.

The competitive awards, renewable for up to three years, will provide doctoral fellowships for three OSU forestry graduate students. The fellowships, officials say, will help to address the need for well-educated forestry and forest product scientists and assist the College of Forestry in attracting highly talented graduate students.

The OSU College of Forestry is widely recognized as one of the top schools of forestry in nation, with diverse programs in forest resources, science, products, engineering and other areas.
